Use drills with self-centering points to to eliminate the need to spot drill a starter hole on flat surfaces. IMCO's D20, D21, D30, and D40 series drills are self-centering. Use spiral fluted drills to aid with chip evacuation. Use straight fluted drills on shallow holes or when extra tool strength is necessary. Use the carbide-tipped drills for extra reach or when set-up rigidity is poor.
